Why do people give Rookie cops a hard time?

I mean, I certainly feel sorry for them. You can’t blame them for getting a little excited on the job, and trying to impress their supervisor. Its like going to work at a fast food resturant, and you’re just excited, just wanting to sell, and help the costumers. I’ve been stopped my a rookie cop before, he was just darn nice, I got a ticket, but oh well, he’s just doing his job. So yeah, just wanted to know why people give Rookie cops a hard time?

i dispatched for 5 years and i personally never held anything against them. they were usually great, really eager to go on calls and assist other officers on calls some of the more seasoned vets didnt want to.

Mostly because they’re a rookie and they just want to break them in. They’re the new guy and the tradition is to give them a hard time, so they pay their dos.

Most People like too try Rookie to see if one of them will let them not enforce the law. Maken them look bad,and not fit to be a peace officer
